The Leela Palace Udaipur

Location. Food. Service. Fabulous views from the guava garden. Food quality is top notch! Service of some staff is beyond efficient.

This exceptional hotel is situated by the beautiful Pichola Lake. The views are stunning of both the lake and the mountains. The sunset over the mountains is a picture to behold. The boat trip to get to the hotel is really rather special: serenaded by a Rajasthan musician, rose petals that flutter over your head as you arrive and a parasol, held by the doorman, to protect you from the sun. Our room was perfect, we had everything we needed. Plenty of fresh towels and an exceptionally comfortable bed. The customer service was excellent, nothing is ever too much. A big thank you to Kashish, Gaurav and Deepak for looking after us so well and making our birthday so special. The restaurants are a treat with the most spectacular views. The food is delicious, especially the fish curry and the shoulder of lamb. I loved sitting on the patio and feeling the breeze from the lake whilst enjoying a tantalising breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed listening and watching the evening performance by the Rajasthan musicians and dancers. This really did make this an interesting Indian experience. Finally, the swimming pool is a dream. We spent quite a few hours swimming and relaxing by it. Thank you for everything, we will be back! India is a very special place with great people.

My stay at The Leela Udaipur was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking views of Lake Pichola and the stunning architecture that perfectly blends traditional Rajasthani elegance with modern luxury. The rooms are incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, and offer panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding Aravalli hills. Waking up to such a serene environment was truly a dream come true. The attention to detail in the decor, the comfort of the beds, and the luxurious amenities made my stay exceptionally comfortable. The culinary experience at The Leela is unmatched. Each meal was a delightful journey through the rich flavors of Rajasthan, with a mix of international cuisine to suit all tastes. The breakfast spread was particularly impressive, with a wide variety of options to choose from. You must dine at "Sheesh Mahal" resturant. I must give a special mention to Madhav Rathi, who made my stay even more memorable. His warmth, professionalism, and dedication to ensuring that every guest feels like royalty were truly commendable. Madhav went above and beyond to accommodate all my requests and made sure that my stay was perfect in every way. Additionally, Aditya from the concierge, His knowledge of the local area and recommendations for activities were spot on, making my Udaipur experience even richer. Overall, The Leela Udaipur offers an unparalleled luxury experience. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s an experience that lingers long after you’ve left. Booked a Grand Lake View through booking.com. We were upgraded to a room with balcony - and we did not have a direct view of the lake as the balcony oversaw the inner garden, city, mountains and a partial view of the lake. Despite that, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very attentive and friendly. During the evening there was a troupe of local folk singers that entertained the guests with their singing. The food was delicious - and the buffet is recommended since ordering ala carte would end up adding to the same amount. Would recommend trying their signature malpua - it was fantastic. The complimentary chaat counter during the evening was amazing. Do sit by the lake during the evening or after dinner for a peaceful experience.

We stayed at the Leela Palace to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our Pearl Wedding anniversary. From start to finish, our Butler Harsh provided outstanding service and nothing was too much trouble. His attention to detail in co-ordinating the celebrations made the stay a truly memorable one! Special mention must also go to Chef Rupak and his team for catering to our special dietary requirements, Overall, a memorable stay made special by Harsh’s attention to the finest detail in every respect!!
